EtsyInspired Challenge #27.........And A Clear Artistic Stamps Peek!!!

Smiley from millan.net

It's Saturday which means a new EtsyInspired Challenge from our sweet Ashley at HeartHugsDesigns!!! This week's EtsyInspired artist is TR Mack Studio. Check them out for a very distinctive, fun style!!!! This week, things are a little different. Since the artist couldn't afford to do a giveaway at this time, Marti from Pez-A-Doodle emailed me and asked if she could sponsor a challenge. They have the CUTEST exclusive stamps that are based on Marti's own little girl!! The awesome prize this week is a $20 gift certificate for ANYTHING in the Pez-A-Doodle shop! Not only that, but Marti is giving you ALL a coupon code for 10% off your purchase!! Just use coupon code: etsy10.

Here is the photo that I based my challenge card on...........

Well, as promised...........here is my ONE LAYER card!!! AAAACK!!!!! My Stampin' Flybaby friend, Suzanne, challenged me to make a one layer, one image, one sentiment, one embellie card!!! Sheeeesh!!! I think it would have been less painful to cut off one of my fingers!!!! LOL But I bit the bullet and did it!!!!

Stamps: Whispers In The Woods by Clear Artistic Stamps
Paper: Pure Luxury 120 weight by Gina K.
Ink: Tuxedo Rich Cocoa and SU More Mustard, Really Rust, Bravo Burgundy
Embellie: Ribbon
Technique: Thumping
I used a brand new stamp set from Belinda at Clear Artistic Stamps!!!! It's called Whispers In The Woods and was just released!!!! You can get a discount by joining our Clear Artistic Stamps Yahoo Group!!!! In fact, you can get a 20% discount all the time by joining our Yahoo Group!!! You'll just e-mail Belinda your order instead of ordering directly online!!! There are 6 large and simply GORGEOUS stamp sets in this release!!!!! Check out the Capacious Collection!!!

I just stamped **my** Aspen Tree (yep, Belinda drew it for me!!!! Aren't I the cat's meow??!!! LOL) using the Thumping Technique added the sentiment and then ran it thru the Cuttlebug and added a ribbon. I scalloped the edges to help it look layered!!! ;) Seriously.........sooo simple. Now the $64,000 Question is: What do you think??? Please be honest...........I very, very, very, very (need I go on?? LOL) attempt Clean and Simple cards!!! So let me know what you think!!!!
Be sure to play along and post a link to your creation to Ashley's Blog for a chance to win that cool prize!!!! And check out all the fabulous DT creations:

  2. You did it my friend!!!!! I do like it but....(there's always a "but", right?????) I would have REALLY REALLY liked it if you could have restrained yourself just a little more and not cuttlebugged the background. Just my humble opinion (for what it's worth)... Keep it really clean and simple!!! If you just can't do with out some impression try embossing a rectangle around your tree with your nesties. I dare you again try the same card the REALLY clean and simple way and see which you like better! If you do it I'll send you a little prize of special BLING so you can go back to your own ways which ARE MARVELOUS!!!!!!!!
